1.1 National Address ينطولا ناونعلا
Feature Description
A National Address is the consolidation of local addresses into a national repository that provides
accurate address location for each and every constructed feature on the ground within the Country. The
National address consists of a physical or a virtual point which is usually the entrance of the building or
structure. Street addressing provides a very efficient way of addressing that allows reaching the places
unambiguously, which is also supplemented by other addressing systems.
Therefore, a national address will consist of the following main elements:
• Building Number • Street Name • District or Community Name
• City Name • Country Name
which can be supplemented by the following elements:
• Makani • Postal Code • Special Code such as EID.
The Federal Geographic Information Center (FGIC) will publish the National Address as a public service
(address locator) and managed through an independent dataset and application that will support
government functions, businesses, and end user application areas including but not limited to
emergency response, provisioning of utilities and infrastructure, delivery of goods and services, etc.
Emirates’ local government or other local address authorities create addresses. The UAE NSDI team will
oversee collecting local addresses from local emirates authorities or emirates SDI representatives which
will be aggregated, normalized, and harmonized to form National Address.
