Introduction

Since its establishment, the Federal Geographic Information Center, in cooperation with its partners, has

embarked on a journey of digital transformation in the geospatial information sector in the country to
achieve the aspirations of its vision aimed at providing a distinguished, integrated and sustainable
infrastructure for geospatial information, in addition to continuing its vital and pioneering role in
supporting the strategic directions of the UAE Centennial 2071 in Digital transformation and artificial
intelligence, so that the United Arab Emirates will remain an honourable global model in sustainable
social and economic development.

The geospatial information sector is a major strategic pillar in the sustainable development process that
the country has witnessed and is witnessing in several fields, especially as it is closely linked to planning,
strategic engineering, and other processes. This publication comes as part of several other publications,
which we seek at the Federal Geographic Information Center to work on preparing in coordination and

partnership with the various concerned authorities within the National Spatial Development
Infrastructure (NSDI) program in the country, with the aim of unifying standards and specifications for
the production and exchange of geospatial information at the national level.
